      Clothing
Glasgow comedian and actor Sir Billy Connolly famously said of Scotland that “there’s no such thing as bad weather, only the wrong clothes”.
It’s true that no matter what the season, the weather in Scotland can be “changeable”. We suggest that you bring suitable clothing for all conditions, including a waterproof jacket and plenty of layers, particularly in the winter months.
Ensure you bring shoes that are suitable for short walks on rough or uneven terrain and, if you plan to do any hiking, we recommend appropriate boots.
 The infamous Scottish midge
In the spring/summer months, we highly recommend you pack insect repellent to keep midges away, especially in the highlands. While bites aren’t painful at the time, they can become itchy and uncomfortable afterwards.
 Cash or card?
Although all attractions we visit accept card payments, we would also recommend bringing cash with you. And…
Don’t forget a camera to snap the fantastic memories you’ll make on tour with us!
Tour Itineraray
Experience one of the best 1-day tours in Scotland as you leave Glasgow behind and journey into the wild beauty of the West Highlands — a region of shimmering lochs, ancient castles, and unforgettable mountain scenery. This private day tour from Glasgow is perfect for travellers seeking an authentic taste of the Scottish Highlands, all in one incredible day.
Our adventure first stops at the charming village of Tarbet, resting on the shores of Loch Lomond — Scotland’s largest loch and the heart of the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. It’s the perfect place to stretch your legs, take photos, and enjoy the tranquillity of the landscape before we continue north through the rolling glens of Argyll.
Next, we arrive in Glencoe, one of the most dramatic and historic glens in Scotland. Formed by ancient volcanic eruptions and shaped by glaciers, Glencoe is both haunting and breathtaking. Learn about the tragic Massacre of Glencoe (1692) and take in the sweeping views that make this one of the most scenic day trips from Glasgow.
After a short comfort stop in Ballachulish, we reach Oban, the lively harbour town known as the ‘Gateway to the Isles’. Watch ferries sail to the Hebrides, enjoy lunch at a waterfront café, and browse local shops — or simply relax by the bay and soak up the seaside atmosphere.
The return journey brings more highlights. On the shores of Loch Awe, we visit St Conan’s Kirk, a beautiful church blending Celtic, Norman, and Gothic styles. Inside (when open), you can discover unique architecture and even a relic linked to Robert the Bruce. Nearby, stop at the Kilchurn Castle Viewpoint, where the ruined fortress and surrounding mountains create one of Scotland’s most iconic postcard scenes.
With plenty of photo stops, storytelling, and time to explore, this small-group day tour from Glasgow captures everything that makes Scotland special — history, nature, and Highland charm.
