  • Clothing
Glasgow comedian and actor Sir Billy Connolly famously said of Scotland that “there’s no such thing as bad weather, only the wrong clothes”.

It’s true that no matter what the season, the weather in Scotland can be “changeable”. We suggest that you bring suitable clothing for all conditions, including a waterproof jacket and plenty of layers, particularly in the winter months.

Ensure you bring shoes that are suitable for short walks on rough or uneven terrain and, if you plan to do any hiking, we recommend appropriate boots.

    The infamous Scottish midge
In the spring/summer months, we highly recommend you pack insect repellent to keep midges away, especially in the highlands. While bites aren’t painful at the time, they can become itchy and uncomfortable afterwards.

    Cash or card?
Although all attractions we visit accept card payments, we would also recommend bringing cash with you.

    And…
Don’t forget a camera to snap the fantastic memories you’ll make on tour with us!

Tour Itineraray

Discover the soul of Scotland on this unforgettable 4-day private tour of the Isle of Islay, departing from Glasgow or Edinburgh. Designed for travellers seeking a personalised, immersive journey, this private multi day tour of Scotland combines stunning landscapes, ancient history, and the island’s world-famous whisky heritage.

Day 1 – Journey to Islay

Your adventure begins as your private driver-guide collects you from your hotel in Glasgow or Edinburgh. Travelling north, we enter Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, a landscape of shimmering lochs, forested glens, and mountain peaks that mark the gateway to the Highlands.
Our route continues west to Inveraray, home of Clan Campbell. You’ll have time to explore the town, enjoy lunch, or visit the magnificent Inveraray Castle (£) before continuing south through Argyll’s coastal scenery to Tarbert, a picturesque harbour town watched over by Robert the Bruce’s castle.
From nearby Kennacraig, we board the ferry to Islay (included) for a scenic two-hour crossing with views of Jura, Gigha, and the surrounding islands. Once ashore, we’ll settle you into your accommodation for the evening.
Please note: Day 1 itineraray may be adjusted to suit ferry timetables.

Days 2 & 3 – Discover the Whisky Isle

Spend two full days exploring Islay, known as the “Whisky Isle” for its ten working distilleries. Each morning, we’ll collect you from your accommodation for a day of discovery. Experience windswept beaches, ancient Celtic ruins, and friendly island villages. Learn about Islay’s deep-rooted history and visit landmarks such as the Kildalton Cross and the American Monument.
For whisky enthusiasts, this is paradise — you’ll have the chance to tour and taste at a selection of Islay’s legendary distilleries (entry not included). Whether you’re a connoisseur or a curious newcomer, your tailor made Scotland tour can be adapted to match your interests and pace.

Day 4 – Return to the Mainland

After breakfast, we take the ferry back to Argyll and visit Kilmartin Glen, one of the most important archaeological sites in Scotland. Explore standing stones, ancient burial cairns, and the fascinating Kilmartin Museum before returning through Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park to your starting city in the early evening.
Please note: Day 4 itineraray may vary depending on ferry schedules.
