  • Clothing
Glasgow comedian and actor Sir Billy Connolly famously said of Scotland that “there’s no such thing as bad weather, only the wrong clothes”.

It’s true that no matter what the season, the weather in Scotland can be “changeable”. We suggest that you bring suitable clothing for all conditions, including a waterproof jacket and plenty of layers, particularly in the winter months.

Ensure you bring shoes that are suitable for short walks on rough or uneven terrain and, if you plan to do any hiking, we recommend appropriate boots.

    The infamous Scottish midge
In the spring/summer months, we highly recommend you pack insect repellent to keep midges away, especially in the highlands. While bites aren’t painful at the time, they can become itchy and uncomfortable afterwards.

    Cash or card?
Although all attractions we visit accept card payments, we would also recommend bringing cash with you.

    And…
Don’t forget a camera to snap the fantastic memories you’ll make on tour with us!

Tour Itineraray

See Scotland in a whole new light on this evening tour from Edinburgh, designed to showcase the country’s most spectacular illuminated landmarks. As twilight falls, embark on a journey to experience Scotland after dark — where engineering, art, and history shine beneath the night sky.

Our adventure begins with the Kelpies After Dark Tour, a chance to witness these 30-metre-tall horse-head sculptures glowing brilliantly in the heart of The Helix. Created by renowned artist Andy Scott, the Kelpies celebrate Scotland’s working horses and mythical legends. By night, they’re simply mesmerising — the perfect stop for photographers and anyone looking for unique things to do in Scotland at night.

Next, we travel to the Falkirk Wheel, one of the most innovative feats of modern engineering in the world. Opened in 2002, this rotating boat lift connects the Forth & Clyde and Union Canals — a modern marvel by day, but by night it transforms into a glowing masterpiece of light and reflection. This illuminated Falkirk Wheel night tour perfectly combines Scotland’s creativity, history, and technical brilliance.

Our final stop brings us to South Queensferry, home to three breathtaking bridges that define Scotland’s skyline. From the 19th-century Forth Rail Bridge to the Forth Road Bridge and the cutting-edge Queensferry Crossing, each one lights up the Firth of Forth in dazzling fashion. The views here are some of the best in Scotland — especially when seen under the stars.

We’ll then return to your Edinburgh accommodation, leaving you with unforgettable memories and stunning photos of Scotland’s landmarks at night.

Whether you’re a photographer, a night-owl explorer, or simply looking for the best evening tour in Scotland, this small-group night tour offers a relaxed, atmospheric way to see the country at its most magical.
